Homework#1
1. "Wrapping"
Do you agree with the web site's description? What do you do that can be called "wrapping"? Give examples and reasons for your actions.
I agree with the web site's description. I think that "wrapping" is one of polite things in Japan. For example, Japanese often flatter someone on everything. Flattery is "oseji" in Japanese. I sometimes flatter my friends because I want to be disliked by my friends. However, I do not flatter familiar friends and my family because I can speak out to them. In other words, we flatter people who feel constraint, but we do not flatter people without feeling constraint. I think that this is one of "wrapping".
2."Death and Funerals"
a. Where do you go when you die?
I have never thought about this. I think that people will go to heaven. I want to believe that hell do not exist. I do not think revive, but if we can revive, it is impossible to be humans. For example, we can be animals!
b. Explain why do Japanese have death memorial services 1 month, 1 year, 3 years, 7 years, etc. after a person's death?
Because I think that Japanese do not forget people who are dead. In addition, they hold memorial services for people who are dead. There are people who do not want to remember, but we have to do. It is the only thing that we can do for people who are dead. They can rest in peace because there are death memorial services in Japan.

yes, Japanese people use "oseji" sometime to keep the good relationship with others. Do you often use oseji?
hello, I thought your opinion is really interesting to me. I was wondering why you thing we would revive to animals. because one of my friends were saying if they can revive they would love to be a guy.
I think Japanese wrapping is very funny.
because, anythink is wapped in Japan.
for example, vegetable!!!!!!
maybe you can see it everyday, if you go to supermarket.
vegetable is wrapped!!!
please see it.
maybe you may laugh!!!!
I also use "oseji" to my friends, too. It's important in Japan if we make a good relationship with people.
Intersting about oseji. In America we would call a person fake if they mad comments just to be liked. I know some people that do that and I don't believe them. A true friend tells you the truth.
Great comments by all!
Thank you for many comments.
I often use "oseji" to my friends, seniors, teachers and so on. It may not be good thing, but it is importnat for us to keep a good relationship, so I often use "oseji".
